A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

Enough said.

The End of an Era

Yesterday was Dylan's last day at Spring Hill Elementary School. He will be attending Pflugerville Middle School in the Fall as a sixth grader. It was bitter sweet for me walking down the hall at Spring Hill for the last time. All four of my children have "graduated" from this school.

When Jordan graduated from Spring Hill they did a special thing for all the fifth graders. His class was in Kindergarten when the school first opened and were therefore the first class to go from K through 5th. The principal who was there all that time was leaving for another job. They made a plaque in honor of his class and the principal. The mascot was an iguana so each child used the tread of his/her shoe to create an impression and then painted it to look like a part of an iguana.

It's permanently displayed in the school. Where has the time gone?

All About the Girl

Madeline went to Youth Conference last month. Charlie's Angels pose. Madeline, Amanda, Rachel and Lauren. ( Amanda and Rachel seem to be shooting at me...)

Shay and Madeline.

Madeline and Rachel.

Madeline and friends.

Recreation. (This is the same place where they have Girl's Camp each year.)

Anally and Madeline.

My favorite picture.

Hot new glasses. (Purple RayBans)

Madeline volunteered with the Miracle League this Spring. It's a baseball league for special needs kids. She really had a good time. This was taken after the last game. She is with her good friend, Maddie and Maddie's sister, Haylee.

Congratulations!

I attended the fifth grade awards assembly today. Dylan is the last one in the family to graduate from Spring Hill Elementary. He won the Social Studies Award. Great job, Dylan! He also received a certificate for reading over 3 million words. Now on to Middle School! (Here he is with his teacher, Mrs. Ruiz.)

Random Sunday Photos

These pictures were taken about 2 weeks ago.

Madeline is playing with the Leap Frog globe. I found it at Goodwill for $2.99 and it is like new. We have all had fun playing with it and trying to beat each other's scores.

Lacey just chillin'

Typical scene with Jared.

Dylan wearing his standard outfit--pajama bottoms (or what I like to call his "leisure ensemble.")

Swiped from the cover of GQ . (He's even chewing something--yum!)

Easter

Here are some pictures from Easter. For some reason we didn't take any pictures of us in our Sunday finery. Instead we just took pictures of the kids in Boston Celtics shirts that Shawn had brought back from a business trip to Boston.

We enjoyed having Jordan down for the weekend. (Not quite sure of the look Dylan was going for...)

Awww, my babies are all grown up!

This is the photo that will be on their album as they go touring with The Jonas Brothers.

(I have NO idea why all the vertical pictures in this post ended up sideways...)

Cute picture of Madeline and Jordan and Bella. Jared looks sleepy and Dylan is snarling.

Jared was so tired that Jordan had to hold him.

Jared slightly straining to hold Jordan.

Jordan holding Dylan. (This was a popular pose for some reason.)

A blurry picture of Jordan holding Bella.

Jordan and Jared wanted to make dessert so they created a layer angel food cake with strawberries and whipped cream. (Madeline made the whipped cream.)

We had a wonderful Easter!

Mother Daughter Campout

On Friday Madeline and I went to a Mother Daughter camp out at Granger Lake. (No mosquitoes were allowed!)

Madeline is a morning person!

She had a good night's sleep--me, not so much...

Recognize this sweatshirt?

The water was a gorgeous muddy brown.

The weather was absolutely perfect with an awesome breeze!

The burn ban was in effect but Madeline managed to look hot!

A hot mess.

Madeline and her friend, Shay.

It was a fun time.

First Post--Mother's Day

The kids made breakfast for me this morning. I guess Jared's obsession with cooking shows is paying off. He made the omelette and it was divine. (Loved the cilantro garnish.)

Flowers from Shawn.

For dinner the kids made me a taco salad. (My request.)

If you're familiar with the movie, Nacho Libre, then you will appreciate this salad face. Jared wanted to blow the corn chips onto it but upon reflection thought better of it. Madeline made sure that I was aware of the cilantro nose. It was very yummy!

Madeline and Lacey the cat--BFFs!

A picture of our kitchen.

I made these tissue paper flower bouquets. They are on the counter because I was getting ready to take them to church for someone to use in her lesson.

Dylan sang in sacrament meeting for his very last time in primary today.

Madeline taught a primary class so the women teachers could attend a special Mother's Day lesson at church.

I had a wonderful Mother's Day. Hope you did, too!
